I've been of from work until today, using up the last of my holiday, and was awoken by Mum yesterday to tell me that our downstairs neighbour had arranged a bulk refuse collection by the council, so did I want to get rid of a lot of the stuff that's been taking up space in our spare room? We ended up taking down three old desktop PCs, two hoovers, a microwave, a pedestal fan, two scanners, two printers, and a few other bits and pieces as well. I was tempted to empty the space under my bed out, and take that down as well, as the base has been caving in for years, but Mum thought that might be pushing it, so I didn't.
We popped into town, and I decided to do a quick trip into Brighton. I got a purple fleece, two pairs of black jogging pants, for lounging around in at home, and two pairs of supersoft chenille socks, for £21 in Bon Marche, and used the £10 Virgin gift card Clare gave me for Christmas to buy the Season One DVD set of Will and Grace for only £7.99. Bargain!
Popped into EAT to get a spicy Crayfish and Noodle salad for a late lunch, then came home, to find that the refuse collection hadn't been done, and Mum had checked with our neighbours, who said to take the bed down if I wanted it to go. Emptied the base out, and took it down, so I'm now sleeping on a mattress on the floor for a month or two until I can get a new bedstead!
Not a very exciting day, but quite productive! Today all I've done is go to Morrisons in Seaford with Daniel, and pop into town here for a few bits of non-food shopping. It's back to work at 8am tomorrow, though I'm off again on Sunday, and I'm going out for a pub lunch with Clare :-)

Snow Pics
Woohoo, we had snow! We rarely get more than 1/2" or so, and that's unusual, so to get an inch and a half or so overnight was a lovely surprise this morning. I think Jill sent it down from Manchester, as I was bemoaning the fact that she had snow yesterday and we didn't! Thanks Jill!
Here's a few pics from this morning.

Clearing Out ...
It was a grey, cold and wet day today - thoroughly miserable, in other words. Where are my clear, crisp winter days, with blue skies and frosts? How am I supposed to get any decent photos with weather like this? I bet we have perfect winter weather next week, when I'm back at work ....
I bought a scratchcard this morning, and won £50 on it, which will tide me over nicely until payday on Friday.
Daniel came round at 12, and spent a couple of hours helping us have a clear out. We took 18 bags of recycling down to the recycling bins - cardboard, plastic, tins and glass, so I feel good about helping the environment a little. We started tackling the mountain of my stuff in the spare room, and threw out two black sacks of things I don't want any more, which meant that I now have two storage crates empty, to move other stuff into. We also took three large carrier bags of video tapes, a jewellery box, and my guitar up to one of the charity shops.
It doesn't look like we've done much in there yet, but every little helps!

I love it when that happens!
Friday and Saturday nights from 10pm-1am, is "All About The 80s" on my local radio station, Southern FM. First song on tonight, currently on full (acceptable!) volume is my all time favourite song EVER ..... Bon Jovi's "Livin' On A Prayer".
Love it :-)

US Bound Again ....!
Daniel, Dom, Debbie and I just booked our trip to New York! We're going for a whole week, from August 20th to August 27th, and I can't wait!
We're flying from Heathrow to JFK (should have been Newark, but I clicked the wrong flight!) with Virgin Atlantic, who Daniel and I flew to LA with in 2005, and we're staying at the Milford Plaza which looks really nice, and is only 1 block from Times Square.
Only 7 and a half months to go ....!

Ugh
I just found out that a whole group of people I really didn't want to know certain things about me, have found out anyway, and have been discussing me and another friend all over MySpace. That's not what really annoyed me though - what *really* pissed me off is the fact that I immediately went and changed my page, removing information that they all *know* already. Now I feel like I'm not being true to myself, because it's not even stuff that I'm ashamed of. Just stuff that could potentially cause the rumour mill and gossip mongers to go into overdrive at work. Can't decide whether I care enough to put the info back and risk it becoming *really* public, or leave it off and feel unprincipled. Ugh.
