Running errands ....

Today is one of my days off from work this week, so I took the opportunity to get some things done this morning. First stop was the Post Office, for the always enchanting experience of having new passport photos taken. Armed with a hairbrush and mirror, I was able to make my hair look halfway presentable (all the more important as I'd just walked there in the wind and rain!) and I eventually came out with these. Excuse the poor quality, I just took a pic with my phone to show you. I don't look *quite* so much like a serial killer in these as the ones I had done in Brighton a few weeks ago, but I'm not happy with the fact that to make my eyes "clearly visible" I had to brush my fringe to the side, or the fact that you're not allowed to smile at all. I also now have to look at the spot by my mouth for the next ten years! And as for the cost of renewing my passport - £66!!! Ouch ... At least as I've already got one, I don't have to have a 30 minute interview before I can be approved for a passport, like new applicants do.

I picked up a new prescription from the doctor's surgery, then went to Boots to collect the blood glucose strips they didn't have last week, before moving on to Stead & Simpson, to see if they had any decent handbags. The lining in mine has ripped, and the corners are worn, so I need a new one, and although they have a couple I like, there wasn't anything that really took my fancy. I'm not a huge bag fan, though when I can afford it, there are a few Kiplings styles that I like, so I may buy one of those.

Mum and I then went to Tesco, where I spent £56 on healthy foods, ready to restart my low carb diet on Thursday. I did buy a Creme Egg, knowing that it'll be the only one I have this year! Managed to resist the tempations of the ice cream section, even though they do my favourit Cherry Garcia variety.

I took a few pis of my new hair colour in the bathroom last night. You'll need to excuse the quality of these as well, but they're taken with my phone again. I really like the colour now, even if people are telling me it's black! It bloody isn't .... very dark brown, yes, but *not* black!

Hi Kirstie,

I really do LOVE the new hair colour. I actually prefer it to the red you usually have :-)

And I agree with you - it's no where near *black* Dark brown, yes. Black, no.

Does look lovely though!

God, I was shocked to hear the cost of a new passport these days. Yikes, mine needs renewing soon! Not that I plan to go anywhere (didn't use it once during the last 10 years) but hey, it doesn't hurt to have a passport just in case. You never know when Axl may want to sweep me away for a romantic weekend somewhere far, far away! LOL.

As for a new handbag, how can you NOT be a huge handbag fan? LOL. You know how partial I am to the odd handbag ;-) Have you thought about looking on eBay for something different? I'm always lusting after handbags there, haha.

Roll on Thursday for the two of us. Back on the low carb bandwagon!

Take care...catch up with you soon!

PS: I don't know why you hide those eyes behind your fringe. You have lovely eyes..

Thanks Lins, for the compliments! It's not my eyes I hide so much as my forehead .... with a fat face already, the less of it that shows, the better!LOL!

My hair is actually darker in reality than the bathroom lighting shows, but I like it. Just a tad softer than black, but a good few shades darker than my natural colour.

Yes, I've been putting off my passport renewal since it ran out in August, but I know I'll need it in August, and in a month too, if I can swing it! It was only £18 to get my first one, back in '96!

I have been looking on eBay for some bag inspiration, and am definitely a Kipling convert. There are several I'd like, but I'm definitely hoping to get one or two when I get my bonus, and next month's wages, on 23rd March. 24 days to go ..... bonus percentage will be announced on 8th March, and then it'll just be two weeks to wait.

Yep, I shall pick up a few more LC groceries tomorrow after work, then make up some snacks etc in the evening, to have on hand. Am thinking about how to tart up my other blog in honour of the latest restart, at the moment!

Catch you later!
xx

I understand about how you feel about attempting to hide your face under your hair. I do it too...

....you shouldn't though as you have a lovely face and like I've told you before - beautiful skin.

I'm curious to find out more about *Kipling* LOL. I've never heard of them. Looks like I shall have to do some research! Could there be bags out there that I haven't come across yet? Haha.

Hugs,
