I'm so excited ....

... and I just can't hide it!

The former Millenium Dome in London has been converted into a 24,000 seat concert arena, sponsored by O2. Last week it was announced that Bon Jovi were to open the arena on June 24th, which happens to be the first day of my week's holiday in June. I had the money. I had the day before, the day itself, and a week after, off from work. I just needed the *tickets*. This was to be the only concert Bon Jovi will play in the whole of *Europe* this year. I had to be there.

I swapped my shift at work today so that I could do 10-7 instead of 9-6, and be online at 9am when tickets went on sale. 8:45am, and I started refreshing the Ticketmaster site, in case they went on sale before 9am. It was actually 8:58am when the site let me through to the ticket finder pag, and I slammed in a request for 2 tickets (the cheap ones, mind, I'm not made of money!). Success! 2 seats available, so I immediately clicked the link to continue. Uh-oh .... these seats are no longer available. Cue me swearing a lot at Ticketmaster, whose previous page, not 15 seconds before, had reassuringly told me "These seats will be heald for you for the next 2:00 minutes" ....

Plan B then .... See Tickets, who not only showed me there were seats available, but were actually happy to let me give them £115 and *buy* the damn things! I was a nervous wreck by this time, but I have my seats. Crap seats, nonetheless, right at the back of the arena in the upper tier. But I don't care. I have a week off, and am going to see Bon Jovi for the second time in a year ... well, one year, and two weeks, if we're being precise. With my bestest friend, again. In the summer. *And* this means that I'll be seeing Bryan Adams, Meat Loaf and the Jovi boys all in the space of 44 days. Life can't get much better, surely?

WoW - you really have got the concert bug, lol.

Still, it all sounds like great, harmless fun to me!

You have lots and lots to look forward to ;-)

Will you be taking your new camera to test it out or no?

Hugs,

Oh, I really *have* caught the concert bug! I couldn't believe that with having seen Bon Jovi last June, seeing Bryan Adams and Meat Loaf this May would have ment that I would have seen all three in a year - beyond anything I'd ever dreamt of. Now though, I'll be seeing them all within 44 days - I'm still a bit disbelieving really!

I would *love* to take my new camera, if I had a decent zoom lens, but at the moment I only have the lens it came with, which is only a 2.5 times zoom, so my old Kodak with it's 10x zoom will be a better choice. It's also the only one I'll be able to get past the bag checks, as anything with a detachable lens is considered 'professional'. Hopefully I'll get some decent pics, though being an indoor concert this time, the lighting effects may well throw he camera's autofocus off. I guess I'll see in June! :-)
