Autumn is probably my favourite season - I do love winter, but autumn is so much prettier! It's a fabulous time of year for walks, with most days still quite warm, and the clear blue skies and golden colours of the changing foliage make it a great time of year to get out and take photos as well.
Temperature wise, it's perfect for me - I'm still quite comfortable in a T-shirt, though soon I shall dig out a few of my long sleeved shirts.
The *best* thing though, is that it's nearly Bonfire! Bonfire around here actually starts on the last Saturday of August each year, with Uckfield Carnival and Bonfire, followed every Saturday until mid-November by one of the other local town or village celebrations. Most large villages have their own Bonfire society, but of course, Lewes being Lewes, has to have not one, but seven Societies! It's one of them, Nevill Juvenile Bonfire Society, who will be celebrating on Saturday of next week, and I shall take the camera and tripod and wander up there for the evening - alone this year, as no-one wants to come with me.
Then of course, on the 5th of November, it will be the real Lewes Bonfire celebrations. I've got three days holiday booked in honour of the event, and am excited already!

I too love this time of year.... I'd love to go to a proper bonfire we never get them around here!
LOL. Trust me, if you stick around this blog, you'll be *sick* of me talking about Bonfire and posting pics, for weeks after the day itself!
For some reason, "Bonfire" and the tradition of celebrating the failure of the Gunpowder Plot, really took hold in Sussex, and nowhere more so than Lewes. For a town of 17,000 or so, we get up to an extra 80,000 visitors from around the world pouring into our little town on Bonfire Night, to watch the processions and fires. Siz of the town's Bonfire societies have their celebrations on the 5th, or the 4th if the 5th is a Sunday, and are joined by military bands, other local bonfire societies, etc, for around 7 hours or processions, and 6 separate bonfires and fireworks displays.
I'm more excited this year than I have been for a long while, because I *should* hopefully be able to capthure photos to the same standard as some of the ones I've admired over the years, with the SLR.
God help me with the editing though - I shall need the time off that I've got in November, just to get the pics online!
