Stupid. Stupid. STUPID.

I left the money for my holiday deposit in my bank account, ready for when we booked, and have just checked my online banking. What did I discover, but that I'd miscalculated *before* I got paid, and ended up over my overdraft limit for one day, and by less than 50p. Of course, I've now been charged a total of £67 for that! Dammit, could the bank not have just *declined* the transaction at the time, as it was on my debit card (Solo, so not even supposed to be authorised if it would take me over my OD limit!!!)? No, of course not, they'd rather authorise it, and have another £67 from me for the privilege!

Now I can't book my holiday until *next* payday. Grrrrrrr. The best part fo £70 down the pan, for nothing. I hate banks. Why can't everything be cash only? *muttermuttermumblemoan*

Complain, put a letter in writing and tell them you are not happy as your card you have should not be allowed to go over your overdraft limit. They have breeched the terms of your account and should certainly not charge you for there error.

I hope you get it sorted...

Yes, I shall be writing a letter of complaint. I have to say, I've always been pretty lucky with my bank, so I wouldn't actually be surprised if I *do* get the money back, though it will probably take a few weeks!
