Daniel just rang me to say that the Partnership Bonus this year had just been announced, and is 18%. That means that I'll get 18% of my gross earnings for the whole of last year, which will be £2506.
That's great, though it becomes somewhat less great when you take off a whopping 33% for tax, as the government considers bonus to be "unearned income". I reckon I've earned every penny! I'll lose over £800 in tax, but will still take home about £1679 of my bonus - enough to pay Dom the remaining £600 on the New York holiday, put £500-600 away to start my spending money off, and either get my new digital SLR camera, or go to Dublin. Depending how much I get in my normal wages, I may be able to swing both, if I can get a good deal on Dublin, and *if* my passport is back with me on time.
So, today's been good so far. No stress, bonus announcement, no junk food etc. Now I have to actually get *out* of bed, and get ready for the usual day ahead. Sigh ...... at least people will hopefully be in good mood at work, having had bonus announced!

Huge bummer about the amount you are going to lose through Tax though! It just doesn't seem right does it?
At least what's left is going to enable you to pay off Dom, plus leaving you with plenty for spending money, but what's this? ANOTHER camera? haha
Hey, what do you mean, *another* camera?! I only own one, my 4mp Kodak! And I can't take the sort of pics I want to take with that, or change lenses, etc ... it's just a basic point and shoot. My mum's got both my old cameras, and the one I'm talking about buying is the same one I've been *talking* about, but haven't been able to buy, since 2005!

LOL. Not to worry Lins, I knew you weren't up to date on what I'd done with my old cameras, so you probably thought I still had them! I should warn you that there may be a rant coming in a day or two about people asking me "what, another camera?" but it's *not* aimed at you, I promise! :-)
